Baking was something that I loved to do before we had our daughter, Sylvia.  After becoming a mom, my hobbies fell by the wayside to make room for puppet shows, princess tea parties, and lightsaber training.  Sylvia is now seven and plays independently more often, so during the pandemic, I found myself with extra time on my hands.  I honestly cannot remember the last time I had extra time on my hands.

So, I dusted off the old recipe books and jumped back into baking.  Now, I’m no Susan Dulin in the kitchen, but it served several purposes.  First, I remembered that baking is fun and relaxing for me.  Secondly, it was nice to have a treat now and then when baked goods were otherwise difficult or possibly risky to obtain elsewhere.

Per my taste testers, the chocolate crackle cookies are the clear winners of everything I’ve made so far.  Let me know if you’d like the recipe!
